Still Nesting

I thought nesting only last during the second and third trimesters. I'm still nesting, although mainly in my mind. It's quite frustrating, because you have all these grand ideas of cleaning out this and that, but don't have the time, energy, or even the two hands needed to get the job done. With that said, on a whim, I decided to clean out my spice cabinet, because I had a new spice rack and didn't want it sitting around the kitchen for weeks. You must know that this "cleaning" has been on the to-do list for probably several YEARS. I'm not kidding. I just kept shoving and shoving my spices in there until I was stacking them on top of each other. I only used the few popular spices that I had to keep buying and the rest that were in the back, never saw the light of day. The spice clutter was so bad that I discovered a few spices from COLLEGE in there labeled with an "H". Can you believe that?! Of course, they were never used because they were in the back. I had several duplicates of spices too. Needless to say, this cleaning was a definite need and one that I'm happy is behind me. It took two days to complete it, leaving my spices strewn about the counter-top overnight. Who can complete a chore in a timely fashion when you have a toddler and a newborn?

Now, when I open up my cabinet, I smile and just get plum giddy. I love being organized. I am a shover-at-heart, but I LOVED organization. I love labeling, I love containers that organize, I love to be able to find things when I need them. But, I've said this before on here, my organization only lasts so long in the closets and pantry because I fly by the seat of my pants and don't take the time with the up-keep. At least I can enjoy it for a little while. In this instance, I don't have much wiggle room in this spice cabinet, so I have a feeling this rack will help me stay organized. This spice rack is the coolest thing I've seen in a while, so cool that I'm dedicating a blog post to it. I've seen these in the stores, but never succumbed to buying it.

Here's the cool part: it lowers out of the cabinet!

Cool stuff, eh? Now that you know it works, go out and buy one!

Totally cool spice rack!

Girl, I'm doing some MAJOR nesting! This weekend I painted my coffee table, a wicker basket and several frames... and that was just for the living room. Not to mention the two bird houses I painted for the dining room, the fabric I bought for Carson's quilt, the re-arranging I did on my patio... and on and on... I love the nesting phase.

Great header pic!

Oh Hollie, I had to laugh. I too love organization, getting containers to organize, reading magazine about organizing but in the end - I shove it in the cabinet, drawer, closet, wherever I can find a free spot! How I long to be the completely organized mom - maybe one day - when both kids are in school and I have more than 30 minutes to dedicate to a project! Where did you get the spice rack?
