Mattie: 6 weeks old!

Here' s Mattie at 6 weeks old!! I am tickled that I can put a bow in her hair. She is just the sweetest little one, and I'm enjoying every moment with her. And I couldn't ask for a better big sister than Laney. She's so loving toward Mattie. When Mattie isn't in my arms, Laney always asks, "Where's Mattie Mommy?" She loves her. When she cries, Laney runs to her, kisses her or sings to her. She says, "It's okay Mattie. I'm here." Melt. My. Heart.

Mattie loves the swing and loves to look at herself in the mirror above her.

Nana came to visit this past weekend and here's a picture of Laquita and I with the babies strapped to us. Nana had Paisley, my niece and of course, I had Mattie. Matt and Lauren were at the U2 concert and Nana was babysitting Pais. I was proud of LQ for participating in babywearing. She loved it!! (I have more pics to post of the weekend later).

We have a part of our living room dedicated to toys, however we don't have any walls since there's a door, a fireplace, a long window and a desk also in this play area, so it's hard to even have a play area with toys without everything being in the middle of the floor, where you trip on everything. So, I decided to take advantage of the fireplace and use it to our advantage since we don't have fires in there enough. I bought a large chalkboad at a consignment sale in Raleigh and nailed it to the fireplace so Laney could draw. We don't have room for a free standing easel, and actually this works perfectly. The less clutter the better. I want to paint magnetic paint on it and then black paint over that so that I can use this also as storage for magnetic toys, etc.. The magnetic paint is pretty pricey. I just love making things! I'll post a better picture soon.

I loved it when my mom broke out the sling too! Woohoo!! :)

I think my favorite pic was that of Laney with her dollbaby sticking out the top of her shirt :) Everyone's in the babywearing spirit ;-)

Love the pics :) Is that how the Ergo insert works or did you just make your own insert? I debated about getting the insert and was curious how you like it for next time around...

Mattie is just precious!!! I'm so glad Laney is a great big sis. Jasper has been incredible and says that same type of things to Baxter when Baxter cries...'its okay, i'm here.' Or he just starts singing the ABCs. its so funny! He just mimics everything I say. The other day Jasper said to Baxter, "look at your sweet baby toes."

Hey FYI on the magnetic paint- if you want to be able to use it as magnetic and a chalkboard you have to buy the chalkboard paint and paint it over the magnetic stuff- they are both $20 at Home Depot but it does cover alot of space- I recommend painting a few layers on a small space to increase the strength of the magnetic portion- but It wears down a bit after a while.
