Happy July 4th!!

Nana and Papa came into town this past weekend, and with them they brought a little battery-powered car for Laney! Look at how adorable this little car is!! Hugh's Great Aunt had this car for her grandchildren, but they never used it, so she gave the car to Hugh's Paw-Paw Earley. Paw-Paw then gave the car to Hugh's mom to bring up here for Laney to enjoy. Thank you so much Great Aunt, Great-Grandparents, and Grandparents to Laney! We never could have bought something like this for Laney right now. She loves it!

Here we are in a restaurant eating. We were both tired and exhausted when this pic was taken. Oh and you might have noticed the baby-face sitting next to me. He shaved his beard off except for this "soul patch" under his bottom lip. Even though I'm so fond of his beard, it's nice to have a little smooth face every now and then.

As you can see on Nana Laquita's face, she's so happy to have Laney in her arms.

Here's Nana, Papa and Laney reading a book after her bath for her bedtime routine.

On the 4th of July, we had our small group fellowship at our house. It was so much fun! Here are a few pics. I hate it that I didn't get to take many as I was so busy getting entertaining. We could not have entertained well had it not been for Nana and Papa. They followed Laney around the whole time and played with her while Hugh grilled and I set up everything inside.

Petting Daisy and chilling on a blanket in the backyard: Cassie, Brandi, and Sarah

Chilling on the deck: Ashley, Nick, Dawn, and Kimberly

The guys playing basketball: Joey, Hugh, Larry, and Nathan. There were others guys playing as well, but I took these pics too late in the game.

Laney LOOOOVED Vivian!! She's the 3 year old for whom I made those gifts. Here's Laney about to give Vivan and hug.

Here's Laney making her own door in the tent. You can't seem him, but Papa was in the tent following her around. He said she just couldn't seem to get her head under the tent no matter how hard she tried. Ha!

Never had a picture taken of us getting ready to take a picture.

Some of the girls right before the party ended. I wish we were able to get a group picture before everyone left.

hey long lost friend--when i am gone for over a week i feel so disconnected, and miss yall, as well as the life of our small group!
the party looked SO fun, of course. thanks again for opening your home-that's a lot of work!
let me see if i can remember all of the things i was thinking throughout the post:
1. laney is looking SO "big girl" in those pictures with laquita where it looks like the sides of her hair are pulled back! precious!
2. larry looks little sweaty/rough in that b-ball pic! my sweetie must have played hard! :)
3. i saw that you got laney the bubble thing! i can tell she is quickly perfecting the art of blowing bubbles all by herself. isn't it crazy how the transformation just starts to happen, where they can do things by themselves? i.e. putting the wand in the bottle, putting it to her mouth to blow, repeating, etc...
* oh yeah, lastly, you looked so classily patriotic on the 4th. :)
can't wait to see you soon.
