The Par-tay

I've done it again. I've stayed up well-past my bedtime, and I'm going to pay for it come tomorrow morning. Last night I stayed up until 2:00 am decluttering our office space. Trust me, it needed it and I can't work as fast when I have to make sure Laney isn't eating paper, putting random earrings in her mouth, or running with ink pens down the hall. However, I only have two more days of teaching, so I already feel like I'm done and have the "choice" to stay up late if I so please. With that choice, comes consequences and I'll be living those out tomorrow morning when my 6:00 alarm clock sounds in my ear. So, I decided to stay up and make some rice and beans for tomorrow, full of onions, bacon, tomatos and bell peppers. Mmm! I also wanted to post quickly so that I have something new to read and see on Monday morning.

We'll start with a few pics of Lanes.

Good o'l Dais. She's such a beautiful, sweet-loving gentle dog. Laney will sit on her, talk to her, squat down and squeal in her face, follow her around the house and Daisy is still her sweet, loving self.

Laney overheats so quickly now that the temps are rising. She is the only one at the nursery at church that has rosy red cheeks in less than ten minutes of being outside. Here she is guzzlin some agua.

Here's Laney with Vivian Gunnels. Oh, how cute are they? Laney LOVED hanging with Vivan, who is three years old if I'm not mistaken. If you look carefully, Laney is toting a balloon in her left hand, or what she would call a "Ball" (although as of yesterday I asked her to say "balloon" instead of "ball" and she say "Booon." That's a huge improvement in my book. She LOVES LOVES LOVES her mylar "Booooons.")

.

We had a cookout in honor of Josh and Donna Bennett since they came back up to Wake Forest to walk in his graduation ceremony for the Seminary. Way to go Josh! We have missed them so much and wish that we lived closer to them. And of course, we got pretty silly in some of these pictures because we share such a fun, long-term friendship and we feed off of each other. Oh and it was pretty late when the night ended, so late hours of the night always makes me giddy and silly. Twenty-nine and a half year olds can get silly too. I think I'll always be that way, even when I'm of a ripe, old age.

And here we go....hee-hee! The first of many fun pics. What you don't see is how we got to this point of silliness. We had Hugh take a kajillion pics of us because we'd look at the picture, die laughing, make fun of ourselves, and then ask him to take another one. Well, after a few pics, momentum was picking up and things were just snow-balling. I love those moments with friends.

For you eighties kids, Hugh looks like Fire Marshall Bill here. We had a good laugh about this pic. Talk about a unique pose. Thanks Hugh for the great idea!

Aren't you sad that this picture is just "normal?" Where is the pizazz guys? :) Well, I take that back....they are quite the lookers(one more so than the others hee-hee), so they are definitely sporting some pizazz, but in a different way than us ladies.

Here's my sweet friend Gwen. She's six months pregnant with their first child. If you think back almost a year ago, we posted pictures of us and them while at the beach together.

Gwen is married to Joelsiah, Hugh's buddy. Joelsiah and Hugh used to landscape together. Hugh and Joel (Joelsiah is his nickname) laugh so hard when they are together.

And I've saved the best for last....

Here we are at Prom everyone and our husbands really wanted to play it up. I cannot TELL you how HARD we laughed at this picture. We were slapping our thighs we were laughing so hard. YOu know, the no sound kinda laughs. "I guess you just HAD to be there." You can't show a picture like this and not say THE PHRASE. Notice the clock in the background says 11:30 and that's late (when I'm not on a cleaning tangent.)

Sing it with me: "Just the two of us....we can make if we try...just the two of us, you and I." I just had to sing that oldie-goldie upon seeing this pic. Getting a picture with just the two of us is so rare nowadays. I love this picture.
