Everything

Every day Laney is doing something new....

Moving: Yesterday she really figured out how fast her walker could go! Up to this point she wasn't too interested in moving or didn't know how to move, but now she does.

Talking: Talk about making your day...she has been saying "mama-mama-mama..." and "bye-bye-bye-bye-bye"!!!! Oh how I smile when I hear her say mama. She was saying it ALL DAY yesterday. Now, I'm pretty sure that she doesn't know that "bye-bye" is something you say when you're leaving and that I'm her "mama", but they are in fact words that she's heard us say, and I sure make a big deal of it when I hear her saying these words. I want her to know that it's a really awesome thing that she's talking

Strength: Laney is a muscle mama for sure. I put her in her pack'n play yesterday while I was scrubbing/mopping our spit-up splattered floors(Praise the Lord we don't have carpet!). I actually get on my hands and knees to scrub, so I had to put her in a place where she wouldn't get hurt and where I could walk away for a second and come back. I came around the corner and Laney was STANDING UP in the pack'n play. STANDING UP! Now, there's NOTHING to pull up on in the pnp. It has mesh walls and the top of it is too high for Laney to even touch. What she did was press her hands into the mesh, used that for leverage and pushed herself to a standing position. She's tried to do the same on the front storm door and on the cabinets in the kitchen. My, my, my...we have a strong, 'lil one!

Reflux: Some of you know that Laney has acid reflux and a terrible case at that. just when we thought it was getting better....I'm counting down the DAYS until she subsides. Doctor Ercolino said it should subside around 9 months...but really close to a year. Ohhhh, I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!! Laney has discovered how to have fun with her spitting up. Instead of letting it roll out of her mouth and onto her bib or onto us....or instead of the normal projectile/fountain-like spitting up...she instead sprays it intentionally. Yes, you heard me correctly. She'll spray it like you would if you had a mouthful of water and wanted to spray it from your mouth. Matter of fact, just one minute ago while writing this very paragraph, Laney WAS sitting in my lap while I was typing. She leaned forward and SPRAYED SPIT-UP all over the keyboard. Ahhh!!! When will this end?!
More times than not I make Laney's baby food. For a week or two I didn't because we had so much company, as well as leaving town for a few days, so I used "Earth's Best Organic Brand"..the best store-bought baby food. Most other brands are full of water, but not Earth's Best. Plus, I didn't go grocery shopping and didn't have anything at home. But I'm back in the game again. This week's food is mango, and Laney LOOOOVES mango! She will open up her mouth when I'm just putting the spoon in the bowl to get another spoonful. Her mouth is WIDE OPEN and waiting for some Mango delight! Ha! I'm so thankful she's a good solid-foods-eater. (small clip soon to come...) Although solid food is great for her, Laney is still growing off of Mommy's Milk for all of her nutrients and fats, for which I'm so thankful!!

Here we are watering our poor garden. Bugs ate most of it, but our basil, peppers, okra and tomatos are thriving...esp our tomatos. Mercy, those things are goooooood! I have her in a wrap b/c I wanted her to face outward. She was what I'd like to call "a velcro baby" yesterday. She doesn't want me out of her sight most of the time and wants me to hold her. It's fun to switch up every now and then.
I will update with more pics and video soon!

Wool update: Well, I've made more wool and have actually sold about 3 woolies so far.

Here's my latest. These were made from a Talbots sweater and man, these beauties were sooo soft. They were meant for Laney, but after sewing they came out as a small. I need to make myself a pattern, but for now, I'm doing alright! I'm at least paying for the sweater that I bought and then a few dollars on the side. I can also make another woolie for Laney from the same sweater, so it's like we're getting clothes for free with a dollar or two for profit! (You have to have a rather large rise to accomodate that big cloth diaper.)

I just made these flared-longies for Laney for this Winter. I still need elastic in the waist and do some trimming. They are a bit long for her now.

What caught my eye was that she intentionally sprays her spit up. I love it!

Thank goodness for play pens to keep her contained so you can get some things done!
