In the video below Laney is playing with the plants. She loves feeling the different textures of plants and flowers..basically anything she can get her hands on. We cannot eat very easily with her sitting in our laps. Yesterday she was scraping the table to get to Hugh's fried chicken. Hugh and I laugh in amazement. Let's see..what else is she up to....she's just-a rock'n away in the crawl position. She'll move her knees as if she wants to crawl, but no arm movement just yet. It's soo fun to watch her. She looks so grown up. I want to time to come to a screeching halt. She's also sucking on her bottom lip alot and making the cutest sound with it. The sound you make when you're sucking your teeth, because you have corn-on-the-cob stuck inbetween your teeth. OH, and the other day at a baby shower, Laney stole the show
! She was roaring like a lion at the top of her lungs, yelling so loudly, but she was soo happy! She was yelling so loudly that she would scrape her throat. She started doing it right when the couple sat down to open their gifts. She kept everyone laughing so hard, including her mama!
In one scene of the video, Laney is wearing her Army outfit that my mom bought her, so she can be just like her Papa Santiago, who is in Iraq right now. Hey Papa!
Laney also has a high chair now, and she looks so tiny in the chair. She is now eating homemade babyfood: avocados, mashed bananas, and sweet potatos. I'm learning daily as to how to prepare and preserve fresh babyfood for Laney. It's really fun and interesting. Laney wasn't the best "eater" for the first 4-5 months of her life, but thankfully, she's a wonderful solids eater. Thank you Lord!
We had another wave of friends come over the other night! It's so fun to start having a social life again, now that Laney goes to bed at a specified time. The crazy thing was that on that particular night, she DID NOT want to go to sleep, was so upset and fighting her sleep. I kept saying how I couldn't believe that she was still up. Maybe she wanted to play with us in the living room. :) I think it was because her best friend Donna was at the house, and that she was so excited that she was back in town again. hee-hee!
We had a great time playing Cranium again. It's only the second time we've played in YEARS...so really, we never play, but we've just had a hanker'n to play here lately. We got to the point where we started drawing cards from the "green" box, which are more of humdingers and charades. It was soo fun. Here's the best "copy cat" played by Josh Bennett. Try to guess who he is and post who you think it is, before you hear the answer. This was hilarious to watch!

Love the video with all the still shots--it makes you just look at what the Lord has given us in these precious girls and stand in sheer awe, huh?!
Larry and I also just laughed at Josh--goof!
Hopefully I'll get to come over sometime this week...Mom's coming in tomorrow.
