Markus

Since my grandmother is Austrian(the one who married my Puerto Rican Grandfather), I have family that lives in Austria. My cousin Eva married Markus two years ago, and right before she got married, they found out that Markus had a pretty big tumor in his brain. It was devastating. Markus needed brain surgery, but not one doctor/surgeon would take the case because of the position of the tumor and how risky the surgery would go. The placement of the tumor threatened his vision and could cause him to go blind. They then went outside of Austria to probe Germany for a brain surgeon who would operate and remove the tumor. Finally, they found one surgeon who specialized in such brain operations. ONE..in all of Germany. Praise the Lord for that one surgeon. Since they had to go out of Austria to have his operation, his insurance will not pay a dime towards it. Can you imagine? But that's not the worst part.

Just Saturday night, my dad called to tell me that Markus went back for a check-up and the tests showed a lot of bleeding on the brain and Markus was to undergo immediate surgery to try to stop the bleeding. Please pray for Markus and Eva. He is in dire need of many saints praying for healing...for a miracle that only God can do. One praise is that Sunday, my dad called me back to tell me that some of the bleeding had stopped on its own (can we say God's healing!!!), but it hasn't stopped completely. They are now treating the bleeding with drugs and watching it. If that doesn't work, they will have to go back in. There has been some memory loss, but they hope it's only temporary. I could not imagine. Second to having your life taken is living without remembering your loved ones, your memories together, etc.

I know it's difficult to pray for someone you don't know and have never seen, but Markus is in a very fragile state, and his situation desperately needs to be covered in prayer. Eva (pronounced like "Ava") is having a very tough time with this, which is understandable. Please pray for both of them. Eva's mother's name (my aunt) is Siglende (start off like you're saying "sit" ...Sih-glen-dee). I will try to get a picture of all of them so you can have a visual.

Thank you SO MUCH for going to the Throne on their behalf. I am indebted to you.

We are definitely praying for Markus' healing - that not only would god stop the bleeding, but also remove the tumor so that surgery would not even be needed.

So, we got Eva's pronunciation... what about Siglende?

I will be praying for Markus . Maybe the prayer connection with a German friend many many miles away helps put a little hopeful smile on his face and in his heart.

Hollie, you sure made me smile trying to bring those German name pronunciations out ...
