Yes friends, I cut my hair! It feels great too! I'm so preoccupied with Laney that I forget that I got a haircut or got my "hairs" cut as Hugh says. Ha! Usually, when I cut my hair, I come home, wash it, and fix it how I want it, trying to see all the different ways I can style my hair. Well, ha...that's a joke now. What mom has such time anymore?! That's one of the reasons why I cut my hair b/c it was too long for me to fix it all the time. By the time it grows out, I'll have a bit more freedom to start doing fun things with it. I'm loving it at this stage with Laney and in preparation for Spring/warm weather!!
Look at my little shnookums holding her blankie.
Guess what I've been up to lately.........
That's right...Laundry! This is clean, unfolded laundry mind you. Now, it doesn't always look like this, JUST SO YOU KNOW. We do use our guest bed to put "just out of the dyer" clothes so we can have a flat place to fold them, but this is ridiculous! First and foremost, a baby with acid reflux goes through A TON of clothes a day...as do I, since even the burp cloth doesn't hold her spit-up. It'll be so big it rolls off of the cloth and down my back. Sometimes I'll hear it hit the hardwood floor. Poor little girl just can't grow out of this fast enough. So, that's one reason why there are a lot of baby clothes to be washed. Also included are our clothes from our week long Georgia trip, my spring clothes(the few I can fit into), and the clothes that needed to be washed prior to our trip. Shew! I just kept throwing in load after load, but not having the time to fold them between pumping, feeding Laney, playing with her, putting her down to sleep, cooking, and cleaning. Shew! I absolutely cannot imagine having two little "shhstinkas" running around, but it's going to happen one day. Anyone game for a laundry folding party?
What else are we up to?
Well, Hugh is playing intramural basketball with his good o'l buddy Josh Bennett. Here they are looking like little boys. How cute! They both are pretty stout players. At the game the other night, I kept hearing, "Way to go Hugh!" That's my man! Here are Donna and I at the game as well(me before I cut my hair).
(Hugh asked me to go "steady" with him...as you can plainly see his ring on my necklace! Hee-hee!)
Last, but not least....Laney's latest bed! We just ordered the "Amby" bed, which is know to help babies with acid reflux to sleep better, and really helps ANY baby sleep better by providing a cozy environment that reminds them of the womb. We've heard rave reviews on it and we think that it's worth it if it works and helps Laney sleep. Last night was her first night, so we'll have to let you know how it goes once she gets used to it. I wished I had known about it right when Laney was born and I wouldn't have to spend this time trying to get her adjusted to another bed. So far, she likes it. It's the pacifier issue that keeps her awake (and me too!) when it falls out of her mouth a kajillion times. Check it out and tell others about it: www.ambybaby.com
And get this....
Here lately, at 3 months, Laney has been putting her hands up to the bottle as I feed her (breastmilk). Usually it's just one little hand, but yesterday she held it with both hands for a few seconds. Take a look at the pictures below! Is this the age where that happens?

i think she is the cutest & smartest baby around!! i mean really! holding her own bottle..even if only briefly...is a great accomplishment in my not-yet-a-mommy-but-still-has-lots-of-baby-experience mind. great work! by the way, do they make that cool bed in grown up sizes? :) it looks super comf!
Hooray!
I can't help being glad to have some more friends using the Amby bed! It took Anabelle a couple days to adjust (she started with it about the same time as Laney)but after that we were gold:) Hope it works out as well for y'all as it did for us. Now what I REALLY want to know is about those bum genius diapers. We've been thinking about switching to cloth. email me (when you have a chance,...which I'm sure is not that often right now) what you like/don'tlike about 'em.
Love ya,
Dani
Hey Hollie,
Your hair looks great. Our couch looks like your bed of laundry just about every day of the week!! Why is it we can never get around to folding those clothes?
Hey your hair looks great and Laney is such a beautiful little girl, I hope she gets used to her bed quickly and you get more sleep! I understand the laundry thing...as I speak I have a few loads on my bed that need to be put away...no rest for the weary!
