Today my brother Richie and my Dad showed up for the day, and we actually had our first outing to a restaurant!! I find that I cannot relax that well on outings, for I'm watching Laney and the clock like a hawk. Feeding times are every two hours, from the beginning of one feeding to the beginning of the next. So, if a feeding takes an hour, she only has one hour to rest, play or whatever until the next feeding, which will last an hour. Now you can understand how I find myself still in my pj's at 2:00 in the afternoon. Thankfully, we were able to get back home in time to feed. While in the restaurant, I was thinking about a plan as to what I would do if she got hungry and where would I go to feed her?? I guess to the truck in the back seat where the windows are tinted. She is the sleepiest baby EVER so we have to take off ALL of her clothes, except her diaper during EACH and EVERY feeding. Here is a picture of Laney during a feeding.
After coming back home and having a feeding, Grandpa and Laney took a snoozie on the couch. What was so sweet was that Grandpa was holding her hand as they napped. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture.
Josh and Donna Bennett came over last Friday to visit with us. It was nice to have some company since I've been homebound since December 6th. I still can't drive, but I'm healing up so nicely and feeling better each day.
I'll feel even better once we find a feeding schedule that will work. I'd love to be 100% nursing without supplements,...and that is our prayer and heart's desire. Thank you for praying with us!

It's amazing what mom's can do to find a way! I've breastfed Maggie in the backseat, sitting in a bathroom stall, and finally got brave enough (an coordinated enough) to feed her in the middle of Starbucks - with proper covering, of course!
Thanks for the update and the pics. She is so adorable. Maggie is sending her a package soon!

It is hard to find a place to nurse sometimes. I have never been able to use a cover in public... because Landen is an active eater... and pulls at things when I cover him. But I too have used bathroom stalls, changing rooms, and the car multiple times. I usually keep a few receiving blankets in his diaper bag or in the car to put in the windows when we are out. Just open the window a little bit and then close it on the blanket. Presto! -Courtney
