I received this chair for free a few months back.
I just love it.
Look at the bones on this chair and the lines.
Love the legs
I love that this wingback has a contemporary look to it. It's very sturdy and doesn't smell, two very important things I look for in used furniture.
All it needs is someone to give it new life with some updated fabric.
I've always wanted to learn how to do that sort of thing. I either can't find a chair that I like or can afford or doesn't smell (I have a very sensitive nose), OR I can't afford the 8 yards of fabric needed to recover it.
I started with a free chair and have waited for MONTHS and MONTHS looking for upholstery fabric that I like, but isn't too expensive because I'm bound to mess up learning how to recover.
I have been downright DROOLING over some fabric at Hobby Lobby that is so quirky, fun and just plum incredible, but it's $45/yard (with 30% off)
Ain't gonna happen.
Not with having to buy 8 yards
and
that I have no idea what I'm doing.
I ran across this fabric yesterday at a warehouse type "Bed & Bath" place in Greenville. It was attractive, upholstery fabric, and would be perfect to practice on.
Not my dream fabric, and not all cotton, but maybe I'll get that one day when/if I master reupholstery.
And it was $6/yard. Much better than $31.50/yard.
Using some money I made at a local consignment sale, I bought 8 yards of it and am excited to tackle this project.
So, we'll see how it goes.

I have 2 wing back chairs that I got from Lawson's grandmother that I am dying to recover too. Right now I have a slipcover over them. I can't wait to see how yours turns out. My mom knows how to do this but unfortunately she is in GA and I am in CO. Anyways, good luck!
Jessica,
I can see this chair in a playroom or a kids room. I hope it turns out too. :) Who knows...it may not be sturdy anymore after I get ahold of it. haha.
