Sloppy Joes

I got this recipe from my friend Megan DeLong. These Sloppy Joes are soo good!

Sloppy Joes
Serves 2 families (great hospitality meal)

Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
4 T. chopped onion
4 T. green pepper
4 T. celery
½ tsp. garlic salt
1 cup ketchup
2 tsps. prepared mustard
2 tsps. Worcestershire sauce
6 T lemon juice
2 T vinegar
6 T. Italian dressing
6 T. brown sugar (packed)
sprinkled cinnamon

Directions: 1.Wash and chop up onion, green pepper, & celery. Portion out and set aside.

2. Squeeze lemon juice.

3.Portion out: garlic salt(1/2 tsp), ketchup (1 cup), mustard(2 tsps), worcestershire sauce (2 tsps), lemon juice(6 T), vinegar(2T), Italian dressing (6 T), brown sugar (6T).

4.In a large skillet, combine beef, onion, green pepper, celery, (4T of each) and garlic salt(1/2 tsp); Cook and stir until meat is brown and veggies are tender. Drain fat.

5. Stir together rest of ingredients – ketchup, mustard, W-sauce, lemon juice, vinegar, Italian dressing, and brown sugar, with a dash or two of cinnamon.

6. Combine with meat in skillet. Cook until heated through.

*Serve with buns (of course), pickles, healthy chips, sliced apples & a glass of sweet tea.
