Fall Decor

After seven years of marriage, I'm still trying to build my seasonal decor.  These past few years I've tried to buy a few clearance Fall things post- season.  I never feel like buying even clearance items post-Fall, but I am downright giddy
upon seeing the new additions the next year.

I was downright giddy this past Sunday.

Although a few things are still incomplete, here's the latest Fall decor:

Fall berries I got on Target clearance last year.

Just tied a ribbon around the shade

These candles are mainly for looks only.
I poured popcorn kernels into the tray where the candles sit.
FYI: Be prepared to have kernels strayed about your house by little fingers, because
these are just too tempting.

I'm okay with it.
I just sweep it up and put it back up there.

And when the girls want a snack, I just pop those kernels right up for
a mid-afternoon popcorn delight.

Kidding, of course.

This buffet hugs the wall behind our only meal-time table.
Laney can't wait to bake some cookies to put in our kitty cat mummy cookie jar.

Straw pumpkins I bought on a major Hobby Lobby clearance last year. I LOVE these.

I hope to get some battery-powered lights to go in my lantern that my Mom just gave me. She bought the pair and used them in our wedding (FYI: She was our wedding decorator).
She GAVE them to me.
I just about wet my britches out of excitement, I love them so much.

And although my curtains hang-ten the whole year, thanks to my orange couch, they are indeed uber-long tablecloths that I bought last year at TJ Maxx around Thanksgiving time.
Already hemmed. Can't beat it.

Remember the candy corn wreath project Laney and I worked on last year post-Fall?

Yeah, it's hanging on the front door unfinished in all its glory.
Some have fallen off over the past year.

I'll get to it sometime this season,...hopefully.
It's on the to-do list

E.V.E.R.Y D.A.Y.

Somehow it's just not a priority. And if it's already hanging, I'm ok with that,
which means it may never get finished. :)

 library/sitting area: my fake mums
These were one of my first Fall purchases a few years ago.

 My outside scarecrow dolls
were one of the first purchases as well

I cannot emphasize enough how MUCH Laney loves
these little guys.

She 'll go out in the am in her pjs just to see them.
She'll swing them on the swingset.
At the end of the day, I'll remind Laney to collect them from around the yard
and put them back under the tree

Happy decorating!
