Earlier this month we finally hit the downtown of Greenville for a fun festival called Fall for Greenville. It's a food festival and all the restaurants downtown come out, set up a booth. Here's how it works: you buy tickets for x amount of dollars. I can't remember the value the ticket held, but Hugh should remember, so I'll ask him. Each restaurant is under a white tent on each side of one looooong downtown street, and I'm telling you, there were SO SO many places to choose from. You buy your mini-meal for x amount of tickets and this way, you get to sample all the restaurants you never have time to go to or money to spend at.
Here Laney is eating a hamburger with a donut bun. Talk about savory & sweet all in one bite. Sheesh.
Who would have thunk it?
In line for the jumping thing
Look at this RAD action shot I got of Laney going down the slide. She would jump up several times at the top to get as high as she could, then plop down on her bottom and bounce down like a little gummy bear. My mind was racing with what-ifs, while enjoying her having such a fun time. She loved it!
Hugh was trying to put Laney's shoes on quickly, so we could hit the crowds again after our break in kiddie land. I took a picture of this because soon she won't need us this way and would prefer that we don't even come close to putting her shoes on. Just a precious time to seize while we have the opportunity. I love being a parent.
...and another aspect of parenting: THE DADDY TALK. Don't you recognize it? Daddy stooped down at your level and having the "let's work on being patient and trust us when we say we'll come back and ride the ferris wheel" talk. :)
sweet.
OH this picture is so precious to me.
Look at those little chicklet teeth, that big smile and that scrunched up nose!
And we kept our word. We came back to the ferris wheel. I can't TELL you how excited Laney was to be in line at the ferris wheel!! And Hugh and I just love making her day.
Mattie pointing at the ferris wheel.
Can't you just hear her heart pounding here?

I love shrimp and grits, Mattie's four chins, how Laney still looks like a little girl in some of these pictures, and that you are doing such fun stuff in your city.
i can't get over how big mattie looks in those first few shots of her! and laney ALWAYS looks like she's giving it 200%, in all of your latest shots--LOVING her childhood. precious.
