Hello South Carolina!

We FINALLY made the move to South Carolina! Praise the Lord! Really. My heart has been so, so FULL this whole week, while unpacking boxes and finding that perfect little spot for the things that have been in storage for months.  We moved three times in three months with two small children and a dog.  Not easy any way you slice it. I have never been more excited to call a house our home and settle down for the long haul.

We bought a home last Friday that we LOVE. South Carolina is such a great place to buy a home. You really can get more house for your money. It’s a foreclosed home, so that makes it so much more affordable for us as well. While looking for a home, my prayer was that we would find a home that was big enough to have a guest room, since I know we’ll have lots of family coming up and lots of friends stopping by on their way to and from GA. We really want this house to be a ministry to others, by practicing hospitality in every way we can. I’m already getting excited about having our neighbors Jimmy and Julie over for dinner with their three girls.  We have two neighbors that are single, older women that I’m excited to have over for some coffee and muffins or a little casual tea party. I am excited about knocking on their door and asking if they’d like to take a stroll through the neighborhood with me.  These are the thoughts that run through my mind all day long while unpacking boxes. We have made huge strides in settling in, but there’s so much more to do.  Hugh and I stay up until midnight or later almost every night, so we go to bed slap exhausted. Such a great feeling to know you’ve worked your fingers to the bone, and there’s nothing left to give.

Laquita, Hugh’s Mom came up on Friday to help care for the girls while we moved in. I cannot TELL you how thankful I was that she was here. We were flooded with Renewal folks helping us move in, people we didn’t even know, friends of friends, so much so it was like it was directing traffic at one point. WHAT a blessing. Laquita had the girls during all that, and boy was it nice knowing the girls were taken care of. Thank you Laquita!!  She helped open boxes and unpack, she helped with the daily routine of bathing, feeding, and bedding down the girls.  Thank you so much Laquita!

I have lots more to update on, but for now this will suffice. I have a few pictures that I will upload soon.
