...at least for a little while. As soon as we hit traffic and the car stopped, this little sweets woke up and wanted to eat. She didn't want her paci and she wasn't amused by Mama's attempts to entertain her (I was in the backseat), so I gave her my knuckle.
She LOVED my knuckle! This held her off until we were just about there. As soon as we walked onto the fairgrounds, I saw "Roasted Corn" and had to have some. I don't think I've ever had corn so hot, so Laney couldn't have some for a bit since it stayed hot for quite a while. Here Hugh and I were trying to figure out how to do the "fair thing" with two children, one being a squrimy toddler and the other a very needy (and rightfully so) eight week old newby. Before we even got to the fair, I can't tell you how many times Hugh had the "stay beside Mommy and Daddy talk" with Laney, telling her that he had to hold her hands at all times or she could ride on his shoulders. At the end of the night, Hugh and I thought she did very well with this. However, I do remember me telling Hugh how I'd welcome the help of a Grandparent next year.

Yumalicious roasted corn! Laney loves corn!

Here we are taking a break for dinner in the grassy courtyard. Fair food is outrageously good and outrageously expensive. The price comes with the experience though, and that's how we viewed it. Hugh had italian sausage with onions and peppers with some roasted corn, a whopping eight dollars. And I had grilled chicken pita (with onions, peppers, tomatos, lettuce, and cucumber sauce), a whopping seven dollars. Boy was it soooo good!

Next we headed to the petting zoo where you could also feed these animals. I stayed outside, steering clear of flighty hay and animal dander in the air. Figured that wouldn't be too good for a sweet little Mattie.

And this Mama loved the handwashing station. So thankful they had this.
Off to the carosel! She loved it!

Next a Bungee Jump for kids: You had to weight at least thirty pounds and that's exactly what Laney weighs. I was a bit nervous about this jump, but since Laney didn't really know how to jump all that high, it was fine. She LOVED this jump and didn't want to get down. Here she is getting strapped in.
Jump Laney Jump!

And now onto the rides! This girl looooves rides. This was really the first year she's been old enough to ride anything. At the end of every ride, she expressed how she didn't want to get off the ride and how she wanted to go again. I think I have a roller-coaster loving girl on my hands.
The best one was this "Free Fall" for kids. We were ROLLING! Everyone was laughing at their own child because their faces were hilarious as the seats would drop and then go back up and then drop again.
As you can see here, she was laughing her head off too.
Papa Richard would be so proud, seeing his grandaughter flying an airplane.
