Thursday & Friday

What a difference a day makes! Today we walked into NICU and were told we could room in the family rooms that are in NICU WITH Mattie and focus on nursing, with the hopes of being discharged Sunday morning. Hopefully the end is in sight! I am thanking the Lord a million times over that Mattie is a champion nurser. I just need my body to respond with supply for her growing needs so she doesn't lose weight. I can't wait to go home. I miss my Laney so badly I can't stand it. I long for the moment when our girls see each other for the first time. Oh, the joy that day will bring.

Here are some pics of her today. Notice no nasal feeding tube! She only has an IV and a heart monitor on. Her last dosage of antibiotics will be late-late Saturday night. Isn't she just a beauty? Those lips are so kissable!

They had to move her IV that was in her foot due to it getting agitated. Mattie would cry out when they would flush it. I know what that feels like since my IV location got agitated as well after four days and it's STILL sore to the touch. Her new IV is in her right arm. You can see it below. There's a white board taped to her arm to keep her arm straight since the IV is in the crease of her arm. They had a hard time finding a new location due to the fact that Mattie has fat, compared to the premature babies in NICU. Yay for fat! She still weighs around her birth weight 7 lbs, 11 oz.

Hugh just called and told me Mattie is eating his collarbone, so I have to get back to our room. But please send praises and thanks up to our Lord for what HE has done in our family this week. Thank YOU for being so faithful to pray for us. Words are not enough to express how thankful we are. We love you!

HOLLIE!!! I just love these updates. I'm thanking God for His goodness. She is so beautiful. The shape of her eyes and nose remind me so much of Maggie when she was newborn - I just want to love on her.

How amazing that you're getting to room in with her and focus on nursing - thank God for a great hospital. And I can't believe she's still at her birthweight; that's great.

How are you feeling? How does recovery compare to the c-section?

We love you guys.

Rejoicing with you,
Shannon

She is just gorgeous, she looks so much like you and Laney. We are continuing to pray for you guys each day. I am just amazed at the awesome opportunities God is providing for you to praise him in this storm- what a blessing little Mattie's story will be to other hurting families and what a challenge your faith will be to the many moms and dads needing to hear about God's grace, provision, mercy, and healing.

And yes, she is SO pretty. She already looks like she is getting bigger and hasn't lost weight? PTL!
The Lord has been so faithful and wow, I am so glad I can see His faithfulness working in your lives. It encourages me too!
Happy Sunday homecoming tomorrow~hopefully!
