So Hollie picked up a couple of games at the store today at a resale place, one of them being Mind Trap, a game where you answer triva/logic questions. During Laney's nap today, Hollie would pull a card out and we'd talk our way through each problem to find a solution. She began to express how much she has never liked Trivial Pursuit, but that she really liked this game, Mind Trap and was having fun figuring out the problems. She then pulled one card, and read it to herself before reading it aloud. The following is a transcript of what came out of her mouth:
Oh forget it! I'll NEVER get this.
It's a math one. I hate math.
Only a genuis could get this question.
(She still has yet to read the question to me.)
I mean, really who could ever get this question?
(Hollie began to read the question to me....)
Yeah right.... (with sarcasm in her voice)
(Hollie finished reading the question.)
This HAS to be an easy question because they make it sound so complicated. I just don't know how to figure it out....
Gah, I hate fractions!
They are my worst enemy!
Mrs. Drama was cracking me up with her morbid fears of math. The more I laughed, the more dramatized she became.
Here's the question:
What is the value of one-half of two-thirds of three-quarters of four-fifths of five-sixths of six-sevenths of seven-eighths of eight-ninths of nine-tenths of one thousand?

50?
Mmmmm, that's deliciously tricky. 100!
I'm going with 100. It got clear after I got started, but it sure is intimidating.
Hugh and I had so much fun laughing at my responses and trying to remember all of them so he could post. Ha! I didn't even ATTEMPT this question. Keep the answers rolling in...
100
wow - i'm with hollie. I don't even know where to begin. I am with you on the math, esp. the fractions!
I am pretty sure my brain is hurting right now, so I am going to say 100, no 50, no 100, yeah, I am sticking with 100! Now, when do I get to find out if my aching brain did a good job or not?!
Do I get a prize if I get it right?
Just asking, because that is what my 3 year old would want to know.
Holly
no clue, but waiting on darrell's response. he would know......for sure.
The answer is 100!
My response is.. uhhhhhhh.. uhhhhhhh.... I have no clue.. My genius husband said the way to figure this out is to multiply all the tops and bottoms together and then multiply the result times 1,000.. or you can come up with a HUGE fraction and multiply the top and multiply it times 1000. Mac just showed me an easy way to "cancel out numbers and see what's left" .. which leaves 1/10.. and 1/10 of 1,000 is 100. Mac wants me to use terms like numerator, denominator and all that jazz, but you know what I am saying. He also had some more impressive lingo, but I will just leave it there. hehehehe! Anyway.. our answer is 100.
Cool! I love trivia. My interpretation of the problem gives me 100.
It's 100.
Ha, I cheated. I read the question, thought about it for about a minute, decided I was too lazy to figure it out and just clicked on the comment section!!
100....I'm pretty sure that's right! What a fun game!
