Another little love

Everyone, meet Liset. She's my new two year old friend and sweetie-pie!. I'd also like for you to meet four other people in Liset's family: Mercedez (her mom), and her Uncle and Aunt: Misael, Judy and Saely (newborn).

Below is Aunt Judy (with glasses) with Liset and Mercedez (no glasses) is holding Judy's baby Saely. Sorry if this is confusing. They are twin sisters. So for the record: Mercedez and Judy are twin sisters. Mercedez is Liset's mom (2 years old) and Judy is the mother of newborn Saely. They are holding each other's child.

Here's Misael, Judy and Saely.

Our small group has been reaching out to these people for a while now, especially this past week. Judy, who is under twenty years old, just had a baby, Saely (Sigh-elle-lee). We've known Judy and Misael (Miss-sigh-elle), for almost a year now and have been praying that they would accept Christ. Misael came to the Lord about six months ago, and there was an immediate 180 degree change in his life. What a testimony to the Lord's work! This past Thursday, Stephanie Lyon and I went down to their home to teach Judy how to be a Mom and help her with just the basics of caring for a newborn, as she has no family around and is very young. That's when I met Liset for the first time, as her and her mother live with Misael and Judy.
.
Judy's baby came early and only weighs 5 lbs. We were there from 5:30 until 11:00, just trying to teach her all the ins and outs to being a Mommy, and really we hardly scratched the surface. There's so much more to teach her, but at least we got a start on it. We were so thankful to our husbands for putting our kids to bed at home, so we could go minister to Judy. About mid-way through our stay, Judy accepted Christ!!! It was unbelievable! The whole family is from the Dominican Republic and speaks Spanish. I was able to do some translating while Stephanie was talking to them about Jesus. I was just making sure they understood clearly what we were saying. I was also able to speak to and connect with Liset in Spanish all evening, for that's the only language she knows. Liset has my heart.
.
If you happen to remember this family in prayer in the coming months, they would greatly appreciate it. Until last Thursday, when we brought some basic necesities down to their home, they had ABSOLUTELY nothing, besides a bouncer to care for the children in the home. There were no toys for Liset, not even a high chair for her in which to eat. No books. No crayons. Not even a blanket or a stuffed animal for her to love on. No vacuum cleaner. No washer or dryer. We are so thankful to the Lord for allowing us to help this family in every way we can. We took Misael to Target to buy socks, pj's for Liset, bottle brush,...the basic necesities. My heart is so burdened for Liset especially, as I had an instant connection with her.
.
With newborn Saely comes a lot of work in caring for Saely properly and tending to her every need, especially since she's so so tiny and still losing weight. She's lost over a pound from her premature birth weight, so we are very concerned for her. They are having to go to the Pediatritian a lot this week and will continue to, but really they do not have the money to continue taking a taxi there and back. It costs them over $20 for a trip to their Pediatritian. But what other option do they have??? Pray that Saely will start gaining weight. In the middle of all of this is Liset. I have been burdened to tears this past week for her and still my heart is so very sensitive to her situation. Please pray for List as well. I covet your prayers.
