Everyone,
It's 11:00 pm on Saturday night, and I just got a call from Teesa saying that Sam, her 18 month son, is back in the hospital. He has Brugada Syndrome, which basically causes his heart to go into tachycardia when he has a fever. Thankfully he has a defibrillator in his chest, and it saved his life twice tonight by shocking him. Teesa got shocked the second time it fired, and she said it was pretty painful. They live in Boone, NC, but right now doctors are going to "life flight" him to Charlotte, NC where they will keep him for long-term stay until he's better. His fever has been at 103, but right now it's around 101 and some change, which is still a threat to him. Doctors have no idea as to why his fever keeps spiking. All of his blood work has come back fine. Upon arriving in Charlotte, the doctors plan to do a CAT scan of him to make sure there's no infection with his defibrillator. Please pray specifically for no infection and NO FEVER. Once the fever is stabilized, Sam will return to a clean bill of health. Bill and Teesa are exhausted from worry, stress and no sleep. Please, PLEASE pray for them until I update you again. They are without Internet access, so she asked if I would post on our blog about this request and beg people to pray for them. Thank you SO MUCH. Sam is so dear to us. It just brings me to tears thinking about how much he's gone through and how awful Bill & Teesa must feel right now as they hurt for their son. Thank you for praying.

Here's a picture of Sam, Laney and Daisy the last time we saw them before moving to Boone.
