My sweet friend Carolina came over today with her son Sebastian. Laney had a great time playing with Sebastian, and I had a great time spending time with someone MY AGE who can carry on an adult conversation. My favorite part of today was seeing Laney and Sebastian run and chase each other all over the house, all the while smiling and giggling. I really need to have friends over more often with their children. Laney LOVES other kids! Isn't Sebastian such a cute, little fella?! Just precious! And Carolina is expecting another one, I think she's around 23 or 24 weeks. So, while she was over visiting, I let her go through my maternity clothes to pick out what she wanted to borrow. I definitely won't be using them anytime soon. :)
I also enjoyed Carolina and I's (is that correct grammar??) conversation about how to start disciplining our children. We both are in the boat where we need to "catch" how to discipline our children in LOVE from other parents/friends with children, as well as educate ourselves by reading a few helpful books to shed some light this area of GREAT importance. No need to reinvent the wheel. This week on the Prayer of Hannah blog, we're discussing discipline. The way each parent disciplines is so different, even amongst Christians, and I know several ways to discipline will be presented this week. Check it out if you have time.
Today while picking up before Carolina came over, Laney grabbed the Swiffer broom and started to sweep the floors for me. Isn't she precious?! She got frustrated when it wouldn't go forward when she'd get it stuck in a corner or on the rug.

What a fun day with sweet Sebastian and Carolina...how darling are they?
I saw in a magazine just the other day where a mother took out the middle two sections of her Swiffer, and it made it "child-sized" for her little one, easier for them to handle and manuever. Looks like Laney needs her own Swiffer soon!

Ya know, I was just thinking today, (a fleeting thought while cleaning up) how I might could tweek my swiffer and make it shorter for her to handle and push more easily. Thanks for telling me that! I'll have to try it.

And as for the swiffer, Hollie, I found some cheap wash cloths at Walmart (i think), and they fit perfectly on the swiffer. I spray some home-made cleaner on the floor and just wipe away. That way I don't have to keep buying the swiffer sheets. Thought you'd like the tip.
