(Gotta love the 80's curtains and the country stencils hanging on the wall in the background. LOL! )
I reflect back to these memories every time I get out my next season storage tubs and swap out my clothes. Fall is my ABSOLUTE favorite season in the whole wide world. I actually get giddy, more giddy than I normally am when it comes to rolling down the car windows or going outside and breathing in the cool, windy air. Ah. Nothing like it. Now, if you add a freshly cut lawn smell to that, I'm pretty much a crazy girl high on giddiness. LOL! My mind starts racing thinking about the chili and black bean soup I want to make, the apple and plum pies bubbling in my oven, the cookouts with friends around a camp fire in our backyard , the HATS that I will wear with my scarves and coats(I ADORE hats!), the Fall camel-colored suede boots with knee-high socks.....oh my goodness...I can't wait. Presently, while Laney is sleeping, I am reorganizing my closet for Fall and am seriously playing dress up because I'm so excited to wear my Fall clothes. Hee-hee! I have on knee-high socks, my suede boots lined with sherling, a skirt, and my new hat that I got on sale at American Eagle. I was bouncing around the mall after I purchased that hat(ask Hugh, he was there.) I might take a picture and show you what I look like. I'm definitely a pro at entertaining myself with my projects that I love to have going constantly. I feel that same giddiness when I complete a whole roll of film and dash out to get it developed IMMEDIATELY. Or when I open up the mailbox and see a beloved name on a surprise card from a friend ...Or after talking to someone in Spanish and making that connection between two worlds...Or when I walk through the doors in the airport. Or when I walk out of the salon after getting my hair cut....Or even in the simple things like hearing the coffee pot trickle hot, steamy coffee into the carafe and the smell of fresh Folgers filling my house(...The best part of waking up...is Folgers in your cup! Sorry, I just had to go there. That was the best commerical EVA.) I hope you are encouraged to delight in the blessings the Lord has given us today. Get out your magnifying glass and look at the smallest blessings and joys..and why not ake joy in them today? You might even experience a bit of giddiness along the way!
Here are a few pictures of Laney. I can't say enough of how blessed I am to be her Mommy. Amazing.

Hey Hollie!
I feel the JOY in your post - fall weather, fall clothes, life is good :)
Yes, I feel every bit of it, well, except that my fashion sense is not near the level of yours :)
Hollie, I'm Josh's mom. I check out your blog (& some other NGCSU friends') sometimes after I check Josh & Donna's. I must tell you how adorable Laney is and she is surely the best-dressed little girl around!
I believe that little girl is looking more and more like her daddy everytime I see her!
