9 month Portraits

I know that Elena (we call her by both her real name as well as Laney) is one week away from being 10 months old (sniff-sniff), but we just got her 9 month prints back from Sears. We CANNOT EXPRESS to you how difficult it was to get a decent shot. Looking at these poses, she looks calm and such a poser. Uhm...pictures can be deceiving. We were in the studio well over an hour trying to get the standard 6 poses that Sears "has" to get. Laney would not for anything stay seated in one spot, and she always had her fingers in her mouth. So, with us trying to get her to stay still, look up, smile, and constantly pull those fingers out of her mouth, keeping us out of the picture was near impossible. So, in these kinds of moments, you pick and choose your battles. We jumped in the picture WITH her! I asked the photographer if this is common problem amongst 9 month olds. Her response was the only children they have a hard time keeping still are the two year olds. We thought, "Great. She's only nine months old. We're in for it when she hits two years!"

Here's another fun picture. I think I had grown several grey hairs by the time we captured this shot. I was SO THANKFUL to have captured this one.

The ones below are from our online account, so they are purposely pixelated, but I wanted to show them off still! :)

I actually JUST took Ethan today to the Picture People for his "2 year" pictures. AHHHH!!! I called his name, danced around, clapped my hands, made up stories like..."LOOK ETHAN, there's a choo-choo" just to get him to look up...YEAH, exhausting times!!! I was weird with my schedule for his first year. I took him at 7 months, he was perfect! I took him again at 11.5 months and let me just tell you, I had on a turtleneck sweater and I was pouring sweat by the time I left. Everytime I would sit him down for a picture, he'd be up and right behind me before I could even get behind the photographer. All the work pays off when you get at least one good picture!! Laney is a doll and I love the one with her holding mommy and daddy's hand!!
