The other morning I had to get dressed and there was no place I could keep her from getting into all kinds of stuff. So long are the days of the fun little bouncer I'd take into every room and complete my task. Ha! If I had only known how much freedom I had.... Back to the story, in my moment of desperation, I had an Anne Gettes moment and put Laney in our deep laundry basket. I had the basket at my feet stabilizing it so she wouldn't topple over if her weight went to one side. That little mama of mine put her little hands at the top and pulled her little self up to standing. I couldn't believe my eyes! I sat her down then proceeded to look for a shirt to wear. I looked down and she was standing again! AH! Can you believe that?!

More pictures from the Mountain House Trip:
We packed our lunch and had a picnic with this view on our way to go hike to the waterfalls! Our hubbies were with us, but they were taking pictures.

Hugh being....Hugh! :)
Our friend Teesa brought a mini-pool with her. Laney and I decided to head out to the back deck and enjoy some swimming (if that's what you want to call it-ha!) While we were out there, Billy and Hugh came out. Hugh was putting some cold water in the pool b/c it had heated up so quickly and Bill was taking pictures of us.

So Hugh goes over to sit down on the other side of the deck on the built-in bench. All of a sudden he started to swat at a few bees that were swarming his head. Before we could even blink, Hugh had jump up off the bench, swatting at all of these bees swarming his head(as there were even more now) and yelling, "Ahh! They REALLY are stinging me! They REALLY are stinging me!"
All I could think of was a yellow jacket attack, where they keep stinging over and over and a bunch of them at one time. A yellow jacket attack will make you take your clothes off b/c they get into every little piece of clothing you have..in your shoe laces, socks, undies....and all.... The only thing I'm allergic to in this world thus far is a bee sting. I love my husband dearly, but all I could think about was my sweet Laney getting attacked. Hugh can run and swat, but Laney can't. I snatched her up so fast out of that pool and took off down the stairs and around the house as fast as my bare feet could go! I was a sprinter in High School in Track and Field, so I was booking it. I didn't know how many of them there were, if they were still stinging Hugh, if Bill had pelted him with the water hose, if they were following us....I just kept running. I think Hugh got away from the nest just in time to only get 4 or 5 stings.
Bill went outside to see where the heck these so called "bees" were coming from. He knelt down to look under the bench and instantly bounced up and looked at us with these HUGE EYES and I "You won't believe this" look on his face. It was a hornet's nest!!! He got his PHAT-DADDY camera out and took some pics. Eww! I get the creeps just looking at that. The Lord allowed Hugh to take a hit for us and allow us to get away without one sting. Thank you Lord for your protection over Laney.
Laney and Sam playing!

We had to lay a sheet over the REAL bear skin rug so that spit up wouldn't get matted in it and so that our babies wouldn't be munching on some bear hair! Wow...a real bear skin rug!

Are these babies not the cutest things you "ever did see?" :)

A nice group shot! It was so hard trying to get both babies to look up. Finally, we gave up! This was the very last thing we did before hopping in the van and heading home.

Here's Laney in her new wool capris. She loves them! Can't you tell?! And look at those teeth!!!!

p.s. sorry for the different sized pics. I stole some from Teesa's blog and they were different sizes.
