July 4th!

Landon and Laney



My baby is now 7 months! How crazy is that?! I was used to saying that she was six months right from the start, but seven months?! Wow. My little baby girl is growing up.

One thing that Laney started to do with me around the six month marker was that she would bite my chin when she wanted to burp. She still does this mind you. I know, that sounds crazy, but she does it and it's really quite funny to watch. I'm not sure if it enlongates her throat causing the air bubble to rise more easily or what...but she does it frequently and only with me. She doesn't do it to Hugh. And I thought to myself that once she starts teething, that's going to end and FAST. Today, when I came home from Runner's Camp(a Track and Field camp that my church puts on every summer and one that I've been helping coach the 200 meter dash), she was in my lap stomping her feet, smiling and just goofing off. She then attacked my chin, and I'm not sure if she needed to burp necessarily, but that's beside the point. While she was biting my chin, I felt something SHARP. Yes, that's right. Little Laney's front, bottom tooth has crowned ever so slightly. You really can't see it unless you get all up in her grill(which is VERY, VERY hard to do), but I felt it while she was gnawing on my chin and when I rubbed her gums with my pinky finger. Soon and very soon we will no longer have gummy shots, but the one tooth smile! :) How cute will she be! I can't wait. This little discovery made my afternoon.

My close friend from High School, Courtney Cramblet (now Courtney Waider) came to visit us for a few days this week with her husband Rob and their precious little 15 month old boy, Landon. Laney fell head over heals for him, and you'll see that below in a picture that we took of the two of them. We had a great time together, catching up on the last three years. Courtney was in my wedding three years ago, and I haven't seen her since. I was just getting married and she had been married for a few years, but wasn't even pregnant. Now, on this trip, we're both married, three years under our belts, and we both have babes to ooo and ahhh over. Amazing!

Laney seems to be very fond of Landon, as you will see in the following pictures.

From the moment they pulled into our driveway, Landon had been fixed on our concrete Georgia Bulldog that was on the porch. I mean, who wouldn't be a fan of "UGA"? We had to get a picture of him sitting beside "The UGA Georgia Bulldog".
