Folks, we are only DAYS away from Laney turning 6 months! Can you believe it? She's doing really well and is constantly making us laugh. We adore her. So often we find ourseleves just staring at her. I know we're biased, but she's the most beautiful baby we've ever seen.
Here lately, she's been reaching for everything! She'll reach for my coffee mug in the morning, run her fingers through my hair, and always wants to get ahold of my plate of food that's in front of her. Feedings are STILL very difficult for me. She's just "finicky" and doesn't want to drink her whole bottle in one feeding, so she's basically "snacking," which is a terrible habit for a baby(and for Mommie). But...our hands are tied. We really can't MAKE her drink her bottle in one sitting.
I can't tell you how strong she is. She's also in the distraction stage where EVERYTHING under the sun is interesting to her. So, I'll do anything to keep her focused during feedings. What she loves to do most while drinking her bottle is grab my lips and my nose. Ha! Not only grab my lips, but she twists them...and HARD. At first, it was cute and a great way to keep her focused while she drank her bottle. But now, it truly hurts. Not only that, but she'll swiftly go from grabbing my lips to my bottom teeth. Though her nails are short, they KILL when her fingers quickly reach behind my bottom teeth, pretty much under my tongue. I mean....TALK ABOUT HURT'N! All of this happens in a split second. The other day we were playing while she was standing in my lap. She then reached up and grabbed the skin right below my eyes(right above your cheek bones) and pulled down on them. I think that has GOT to be the most painful thing she's done. She's just playing. But boy....if that doesn't make your eyes water, I don't know what does. Needless to say, this girl is strong. I want to film a feeding one time. She'll arch her back, talk to whatever is distracting her, kick her legs, climb up me....and she's going to be up off this ground in no time. I'm really going to be running my legs off chasing after her.
Laney is so much fun!!

Man oh man...I just can't believe how big that little BABY girl is getting!!! That is such a fun age as they begin to experience new foods and learn new tricks. In NO time, she's going to be scooting around like you said...hope you have your house baby proof :) Hollie, I'm so sad I missed you at the BSU this weekend. I wanted to wait but we just had to get back, we had family in town staying at our house and had to get back. One of these days I'm going to get some Hollie time all to myself!!! Love ya!
Just so you know...at 8 months, they still pull hair, nose, lips, ears, and anything else they can get their little paws on...LIKE CRAZY painful.
I so love it! Exploration is such fun! AWESOME banana puff scene. Loved every minute!
