Slap Exhausted

Laney and I went back to Georgia with Nana Laquita, Hugh's Mom last Sunday. We are now just below Atlanta at my parents' house until this weekend. I love to travel, but traveling with a baby is a whole different story. Babies know when they aren't at home, even if you bring their little bed with you to your destination. Laney is WAY off schedule, which makes it difficult on me because she's SUPER teeped out(my word for sleepy.) And when Laney doesn't sleep, she won't eat well either, so it's the perfect recipe for a little miss cranky pants, as my friend Audrea puts it so well. But it continues to be a little rough even when you get home for about 3-4 days until they are back on schedule.

Needless to say, I'm slap exhausted right now, at 8:00 pm on Thursday evening. I could seriously crawl in bed and crash. She gave me a run for my money today. How in the world do mothers raise two little ones? I guess a lot depends on dispositions and temperments. I'm assuming that baby #2 always ends up figuring out that the attention is divided from day one, so he/she learns to entertain him/herself.

Well, I'm signing off to go relax now that Laney is down for the night. Praise the Lord for the breaks that He gives us parents at the end of a laborious day.

Hang in there girl. Kids always do better at home in their own bed and room, just as we do. It does get easier as they get a little older. Ethan still doesn't sleep well when we are out of town, but it gets a little easier :) Can't wait to see you and Laney bug next week!!
