Here's Laney-bug all bundled up to go out on errands. It's been pretty cold here in N.C. Just last night it was in the lower teens, but with windchill it was in the single digits. Burr!!!
Here's Laney today, having been just laid down for her afternoon nap. I love that lamb hat!
Things are getting a little bit easier concerning nursing and sleeping. For a while there, she fought naps every time we put her down. Now, I'm realizing it was my timing in putting her down. I didn't realize how much sleep they needed and by the time I was putting her down, she was overstimulated from toys and overtired. If only we can get the pacifier to stay in her mouth, then we'd be gold. I look for really early signs of sleepiness, before she yawns and/or rubs her eyes. Nursing is going better as well. We still have our moments, probably once a day where she will want the milk-flow to be faster due to her fatigue. Usually this happens between 6:00 and 9:00 at night.
Yesterday Hugh and I took Laney to get her 2 month shots. I wasn't looking forward to this appointment at all. The praise of all praise is that Laney is now weighing 9 lbs 15 oz....just one ounce away from 10 lbs!!! That's A HUGE praise, knowing that we have been off all supplements for a while, and she's growing just through nursing alone. As her mother, I feel so grateful and thankful for that.
Laney received 5 shots yesterday, but they combined them into 3 shots. I can never watch a shot going into the skin, so I stayed by her head. I have never seen that expression on her face before. Oh, it was so sad. I also thought she wasn't going to take a breath. Her face turned so red ..unbelievably red and she was crying so hard that she didn't breathe for the longest time. Oh....it was awful. Her little feelings were probably hurt, for I'm sure she was thinking, "Why is someone hurting me?" I'm glad those are overwith. She was exhausted all day yesterday, so I was able to really get a good long nap during one of her naps.
Here's Hugh and Laney napping Sunday afternoon. How sweet! This is one of Hugh's favorite Daddy-Daughter time.
Here they are again playing on the ground in her nursery. Daisy didn't miss a beat, so she decided to join the crew as well! Daisy is SUCH a wonderful, sweet dog. I can't wait until Laney really gets to play with her.
Have a great week!

Daddy-Daughter time on Sunday afternoon can be GREAT mommy-nap time as well! I love Sundays. While you guys are bundled up in the snow, today, we have the patio door open, and Maggie is playing on her blanket on the floor. It's a gorgeious 70 degrees outside! I love days like this! The Hazletons send our love!
she is so precious! i can't wait to hug her and love on her tomorrow night! :)
She's get cuter with every new picture. I'm glad she's growing and growing. It sounds like you're having so much fun...even without the sleep! Let us know when you come in town. We would love to see ya'll!
