We bought our tree last Friday and have really tried to get everything decorated so that we can enjoy our Christmas decor while things are normal and in order. Soon, in 10 days we'll be in the hospital 3-4 days, and once we come home, things will be very different(in a good way).
Here's Hugh taking off the net from our tree. He's about to haul that thang in our house. Right about now, I was loving the smell of a freshly cut tree. Mmm!

Here's my VERY FIRST homemade FRESH wreath. The twigs came from the free twigs you can get at Lowe's, the ones that take off when they cut the bottoms of all the trees that sell. My mom taught me how to make those HUGE bows out of a spool of ribbon, so I didn't spend a fortune on this. I went to Wal-mart and bought scrap pieces of maroon and gold material so I could make little ties all over the weath(I just saw the ties on a wreath in my Better Homes and Garden Christmas mag.) This wreath smells SO GOOD because it's fresh!!!
Tah-dah!!!! Here's our 6-7 foot tree!!! We love it! Now, it doesn't look NEAR as good in this pic as it does in person. I tried to take a picture of it with the lights out and no flash, but I'm not satisfied. New Christmas Decor Addition: I stuffed gold and ivory tule in the tree to make the tree seem fuller and fluffier. With the lights next to the tule, it really makes it a cozy, shimmery tree!! :) I have yet to put the traditional round gold/maroon balls on the tree. I don't have any metal hooks!! And we need to add more lights toward the upper half of the tree to light up our angel on top. We have half of a strand of lights playing tricks on us. Off to Wal-mart I go...AGAIN!!

Good job, guys! Hey, Hollie, how did you get all of the pine twigs to stay together in that wreath?
great work my friends! but i am still upset b/c we have not been made a "link" yet. what do we have to do to earn that status in your life? :) db
Carsons-
I love the tree!!!! I am most excited about seeing the pics of your expected arrival. I can't wait! I'm with Donna....I want to be made a link on your page. :) I've got to figure out how to do that on our page.
Praying for you-
Lori
Seriously. You need to write step by step instructions on how to get the pine to stay AND how to make that bow. I'd love to be able to make something that pretty.
Hollie, the wreath is so amazing! Please write directions on how to make it, the bow, and a list of the materials needed. -Court
I've decorated my tree maroon and gold this year. What are the odds?!?! HOpefully, I'll have a pic of my tree up soon. Oh, and by the way, I understand light problems and having to go back and forth to Wal-Mart.
It must be in the air. I TOO decorated my tree in gold and maroon this your AND we are having light trouble. Jeremy would plug in lights to test them then put them on the tree. After getting them on, they wouldn't work. So we went to WALMART and bought some new ones. Got them on and 2 days ago he notices that part of one stand doesn't work anymore. Don't get your lights at Walmart!!
It's definitely nice to see pics of Doug, but we want to see more of Hollie! When I look back at my pictures from only 9 weeks ago, when I was super preggo like you, I can't believe I ever looked like that.
Love the wreath!
