All of you 80's fans remember those sweet, innocent shows like Family Matters, Growing Pains, Step by Step that came on t.v. when we were growing up? Ah, the good old days. How about Urkel and his famous line..."Oops, sorry Laura! Did I do that?" Well, I just had my very own Urkel moment today, and it would fall under one of my most embarassing moments, I do believe.
I have read that pregnant women have much more saliva in their mouths, and I have found this to be true. When I'm teaching and the overhead projector is on with the lights off, the spit goes flying and it's apparant to everyone in the room. I can't help it!! Well, today in 2nd period, this sweet student of mine raises her hand to ask me a question about a sentence that she had written in her workbook. I walked over to her desk, leaned over to hear her ask me a question, and then as soon as I opened my mouth, I gleeked ALL OVER HER PAGE!!!! AHH!!! And there was no hiding it, because those recycled, thin workbook pages showed every tinsy drop of saliva that was just sprayed all over her page. So,.....in this awkward moment....I just put my hand over my mouth, start to giggle(no use in hiding or ignoring it)..and say, "Oh my, I'm sorry." Here's where I wanted to point and say "Ohh, did I do that???" She starts laughing and then I start laughing even harder, because I'm so embarassed. I mean, c'mon...what do you say? "Sorry, I just decorated your paper. So, what's your question?" I could hardly talk or answer her question, but I tried. As I tried to sqeak a word or two of instruction out, my throat felt like it had an apple in it b/c I had been laughing so hard. Oh....sweet memories. I'll never forget that one. It's one thing to be teaching and see little "shooting comets" fly from your mouth when you're near the overhead. You just ignore it. If you don't make a big deal of it, they won't either. But mercy...spraying a student's workbook....there were dots EVERYWHERE! She even pointed to the dots while we were cracking up and trying to recover. Ha! Ha! Deep sigh....
Well...onto baby news.....
Our baby girl is now over 3 lbs!!! Praise Him! That's amazing to me. I was reading that she's about to go through a big growth spurt. When I read that my eyes bugged out, because I thought she already had a pretty huge growth spurt from what the scales were telling me and from how I have been feeling (HUGE). The groaning and grunting while trying to turn over in my sleep or get up to use the bathroom one of the 5 times, STILL hasn't woken Hugh up. Amazing. And it's gotten worse. I just can't help it. Ha!

Hollie does wake me up every now and then, but I'm only awake for 2.2 seconds. And Hollie might say that she is feeling HUGE, but she is looking super fine!
LOL!!! Giggling!!! My husband is soooo sweet!! He makes me laugh like crazy!
I love you Hugh!

Hollie....you're story cracked me up! I'm still giggling. It made me think of another story about a weird noise you made when you were sitting in class as a student. Okay, now I'm laughing out loud!
That is so sweet - You two are so cute!
Okay so I was going through a box of photos and guess what I found....?
Pics of when the two of you were out on a college trip to LJ. It was a group pic. Hollie on one side and Hugh on the other. I just smiled thinking back to those days and remembering how great it was to have you all there.
And now.......
It is a joy to see how the Lord has blessed the two of you - as you wait with anticipation for your little girl... I'm just amazed and in awe of the God we serve... He knew when that picture was taken what was to come!
anyway enough sappiness.. :)
loved the story Hollie - I love how when I come to ya'lls blog I smile every time!
love to you both!
mel................
ps. when is the due date?
Hollie,
GUESS WHAT! i have that same problem! I have to wear a retainer now, and i HATE using the overhead! It's like the 4th of July of spit...it goes everywhere!!!!!!!!! That's so funny, but i had to move one student because she kept making a big scene when saliva would land on the overhead!! :) Love MC <><
LOL!!! Hollie, that story is so stink'n funny!! I'm just cracking up right now. When I was reading it I too was reminded of that day that we all were sitting in Athletic Training class, but, I think Liz needs to clarify what kind of "weird noise" it was that you made. That could leave people to wonder for themselves. Hee Hee!!
Love ya!!
Kimberly
Hi Hollie! This is Margaret Laird, former Franklin Academy teacher in the middle school and now stay at home mom to our 2mo. daughter Meredith. I have read your blog off and on for a while and am so excited for you! I think the last time we talked my seminary husband was looking for a job so I could stay at home. The Lord has blessed us with a church that he now pastors in Martinsville VA! I just read that you have family here! That's neat! The next time you come to Martinsville we'd love to have you at our church - I'm missing female companionship! There aren't many young people that I've met here. Anyway, I don't want to be a comment hog. God bless you and your baby!
