In The Know

Shew....what a relief. I made it a week without spilling the beans to my parents that we're having a girl. They wanted to know in person, so I had to keep this life-changing news a secret until then. Talk about torture. Mercy.

Last night, after we got home from the airport, we showed them what she looked like on the ultrasound, without being able to tell the gender. We showed them the picture of her sucking her thumb. You heard me....we were able to capture her sucking her thumb while we were having our ultrasound. Talk about melting your heart away. She started to wave her little arm and then...bop! She put that thumb right in her mouth, as if she'd been doing it for months now. I can't wait to meet my precious, little sweetheart. Then, we gave them the envelope with the news in it and the picture of the evidence or should I say, lack thereof. They instantly broke into smiles and happiness!! They would have reacted the same way no matter the gender, but it's just so nice to know. My mom has been saying since last night, "It's a girl! It's a girl!" over and over with this huge grin on her face. Hugh and I still can't believe it! I'm so glad we found out.

They dropped me off at work today, so that they could keep the truck and drive themselves around. On the way to school, mom was calling all of her ladies at work telling them, "It's a girl!!!!" and I would hear screaming on the other end of the line. I'm amazed at how excited her friends were, and I'm so happy that they celebrated with her!!! She's got sweet friends at work!!!

Well....it's Friday, and I'm just not with it today, partially because I stayed up pretty late last night showing mom and dad everything that we've done around the house and yard and just talking about baby girls. Sweet bliss. I look forward to posting a picture of my parents on here either today or tomorrow.
