Departure Date

It will be a sad day in dahlonega on saturday, june 11th...as we pack in the boxes, load up daisy, and climb up in our uhaul, destined for wake forest, nc. as i was walked daisy down our private, peaceful driveway this morning before work, i thanked the Lord for blessing us with such an awesome place to live for awhile. we will miss the deer and groundhogs munching on the grass in the front yard, plucking off ripe, red tomatoes and veggies from our garden we planted, the rocking chair front porch view of the mountains, the absence of neighbors on our right and left, the canopy of trees we drive under down our driveway, and the smell of clean, mountain air. Hugh will miss the 10 minute drive to go trout fishing in Clayton's backyard. i will miss the convenience and secure surrounding of the drill field at the college where i walk daisy every day. i could dig myself a little hole and camp out in the saddness if i so chose to. however, there is beauty in obedience to the Lord; Therefore, we know that this departure is blessed. we will have incredible and trying times ahead, but as our heart aches for dahlonega, at the same time we will begin to embrace wake forest. i love adventure and in many cases, i enjoy change. it makes life exciting and new! i cannot wait to update this blog with wonderful, awesome God-stories that can only be born in wake forest. so, let's take baby steps here, and make this transition slowly....(i SO didn't mean to mention the words "born" and "baby" next to each other. don't EVEN be getting ideas!)

yesterday we were given something that helped us see the reality of this move, a new mailing address!!! this was exciting for us! since we abstained from buying a house, we will be living in seminary housing with a month-to-month lease. (there are pros and cons to this living situation.) a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with all the appliances and a fireplace for a wonderful price fall into the "not too shabby" category for us right now. so please come and visit us! we will continue to re- evaluate the option to buy a house.

we will keep our cell phone numbers and let you know if anything changes in that area. i, hollie, start teaching on july 11th, so i don't have much time to enjoy my summer-sleep-in-mornings. but i'll take the job! pray that this transition will not wear me out after moving and w/o having much of a restful summer. thank you for dropping in and checking on the carsons. oh, and let us know if you create your own blog! love you all!
